TUSAAG Embarks on Industrial Action

The Technical Universities Senior Administrators Association of Ghana (TUSAAG) has embarked on an indefinite strike over unpaid Research Allowances.
The strike, which took effect on December 3, 2025, involves a complete withdrawal of administrative services, including finance, admissions, examinations, human resources, registry, and general administration across all 10 Technical Universities.
In a letter, it stated that the strike will remain in force until the government addresses the outstanding allowances.
According to the Association, the government has failed to honour the One-Time Research Allowance, agreed upon on July 10, 2024, aimed at compensating administrators for research and publication required for promotion.
It said months of engagement with government agencies, including the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), have proven futile, while letters, formal requests for dialogue, and repeated attempts to meet with the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, have gone unanswered.
It added, “Despite the industrial action, TUSAAG says it remains open to sincere and immediate dialogue to achieve a permanent resolution, stressing that the strike is aimed at compelling the attention and action that previous appeals have failed to secure.”
