Turn Abandoned Church into Police Station – Agric Nwamase Youth Cry Out Amid Robbery Fears

The Concerned Youth of Agric Nwamase are making a passionate appeal to local and traditional authorities, urging them to intervene and repurpose an abandoned church building for the benefit of their community.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, April 23, youth leader Kwadwo Baah revealed that the structure—formerly used as a Roman Catholic church—has remained idle after the congregation was relocated due to a population boom.
Despite several petitions to the local chief, elders, and church leaders, the youth say the building has been left to deteriorate and is now being misused for purposes like laying corpses for funeral services, which they believe is disrespectful and inappropriate.
The group is calling on authorities to convert the building into a police station or another facility that could address pressing community needs.
According to them, the absence of proper security infrastructure has contributed to an increase in armed robbery incidents, leaving many residents living in fear.
“Our people are not safe,” a concerned youth leader lamented.
“This building is sitting there wasting away, yet it could serve a critical purpose. We need Otumfuo’s help to bring about change.”
The youth believe that with the Asantehene’s support, the building—or at least the land it sits on—can be released for meaningful development that enhances public safety and improves living conditions in Agric Nwamase.
They remain hopeful that their cries will not go unheard this time.
