Toyota Cup: Kotoko Lands In South Africa

Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko SC has arrived in Durban, South Africa, for the highly anticipated Toyota Cup showdown against Kaizer Chiefs.
The two-time CAF Champions League winners departed Ghana on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at exactly 9:40 PM from the Kotoka International Airport and touched down at the King Shaka International Airport in Durban at 7:40 AM local time.
The Porcupine Warriors received a warm welcome from officials of Amakhosi on arrival and are lodged at the Protea Hotel Fire and Ice.
The team will rest for the day and resume full training on Thursday as preparations continue for the crucial match set to take place on Saturday at the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The Toyota Cup encounter is expected to be a thrilling display of African football, with both giants having a history in the renamed Cup Final, and this presents the opportunity for the two heavyweights to showcase their strength, heritage, and passion.
Twenty-five players travelled to the southern part of Africa. They are Samba O’Niel Lord Amoah, Henry Ansu, Mohammed Camara, Peter Amidu Acquah, Lord Hilary Adabo, Shayibu Abubakar, Joseph Amoah and Philip Amoh Johnson.
The rest are Owusu Seth, Kwadwo Zackaria Fuseini, Aziz Haruna, Dari Francis Acquah, Patrick Asiedu, Baba Yahaya, Hubert Gyau, Saaka Dauda, Elvis Kyei Baffour and Michael Sefah.
The Toyota Cup is slated for this weekend at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
