{Throwback} Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III Is My Counsellor- HE Konadu Agyemang Rawlings

Former First Lady of Ghana, HE Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, in 2022, disclosed the critical role Nana Konadu Yiadom III, Asantehemaa, played in her life.
The politician who is of the Oyoko royal family described Her Majesty as her counsellor.
From her encounter with the Queen, she recognised and accorded her the descriptions of a mobiliser, an educator, and a model for women and the youth.
She made these remarks at the climax of the celebration of the Asantehemaa’s fifth Enstoolment anniversary on February 16, 2022.
Asanteman has lost a venerable and reputable leader, but the former first lady mourns a great counsellor.
Brief Profile
Nana Konadu YIADOM III, born as Nana Ama Konadu in 1927 at the sacred Benyaade Shrine in Merdan, a small town in Kwadaso, Kumasi, entered the world during the critical period of the Asante Confederacy’s restoration.
Her birth itself seemed prophetic, occurring at a shrine that would later symbolise the spiritual foundation of her remarkable journey to the apex of Asante traditional authority.
She was the first child of the 13th Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II, who reigned as Asantehemaa from 1977 to 2016.
Her Majesty passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, at her residence.
