There’s No Major Damage; Baba Rahman After Collapsing
Black Stars player Baba Rahman has provided an update on his health status after collapsing on the pitch during a collision with opponent Georgios Vagiannidis in the Greek Cup semi-final on Wednesday.
In a message on X, formerly Twitter, the PAOK left-back said he had no serious injury and was recuperating quite well.
“Thankfully I’m recovering well and scans have shown no major damage.”
He expressed his appreciation to his fans and Vagiannidis for the heartfelt messages and concerns.
“Hello, just wanted to thank everyone for their concern and well wishes in the last 12 or so hours…I’d like to also say a big thank you to Georgios Vagiannidis for personally checking in on me at the hospital.”
He is hopeful of returning to the pitch quickly.
The former Dreams FC player and Vagiannidis fell to the ground during an aerial duel that went wrong with the former lying motionless and the latter reeling under what appeared to be an intense pain- at a time when both sides scrambled for a win that would end in a 2-2 stalemate.
The Ghanaian was revived by the medical team and was transported to a hospital for further treatment.
After halting the game for some time due to the unfortunate incident, the game resumed with PAOK eventually losing in a 6-5 penalty shootout.
