Addai-Nimoh Withdraws From NPP Flagbearership Race

Francis Addai-Nimoh, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has abandoned plans to contest in the flagbeareship race of the party.

In a press statement, he outlined a number of factors for his decision, including disagreement with the timing of the Presidential Primaries; imprudent internal Party contests; bias; and unreasonable and unhealthy monetisation of internal politics.

According to him, these factors undermine the foundations of the party’s internal democratic culture and place unethical emphasis on money rather than competence and winnability.

“Following broad consultations, advice from my Team Members and careful reflections on the current circumstances of the Party, I have decided not to contest the NPP Presidential Primary scheduled for January 31, 2026.”

He, however, wished all the aspirants well in their campaigns.
