Prefos Limited Contracted to Light Up Selected Roads in Ashanti Region

The government has contracted the services of Prefos Company Limited to light up selected roads in the Ashanti Region.

In a Facebook post, the Regional Minister, Hon Frank Amoakohene said the company has signed a two-year contract with the Ministry of Roads and Highways through the Highway Authority to maintain key sections of the street lighting network.

According to him, it is one of the interventions by Roads Minister, Hon. Kwame Agbodza aimed at improving safety and security in the region.

The company will be in charge of streetlight fixing and maintenance from Ejisu Abenase to Tech Police Station and Suame to Buoho.

Meanwhile, the Minister has issued a directive to Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to assume responsibility for street lighting in their respective areas, ensuring that no community is left in darkness.

“I have also secured the commitment of the Roads Minister to extend maintenance efforts to other areas within the region,” he added.
