IGP Reshuffles Commanders in Galamsey Red Zones

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has reshuffled police commanders in illegal mining hotspots across the country.
A statement issued by the Ghana Police Service said this is the first phase of the reshuffle exercise envisioned to inject fresh energy into the fight against illegal mining activities in the country.
It noted that it is in pursuit of a “relentless war” against the menace which is destroying natural resources.
“The Inspector-General of Police, in keeping with his promise to wage a relentless war on illegal mining activities (galamsey) has reshuffled Police commanders in galamsey prone areas.”
The affected Police Commands affected include some Divisional and District Commanders mainly in the Eastern South, Western and Western North Police Regions.
It further announced that many more reshuffles will be announced in the coming days.
