Military Officers Warned Against Unauthorised Duties

Military personnel have been cautioned against offering unauthorised services across the country.
A statement by the Minister for Defence, Edward Omane Boamah, on July 15, 2025, said this includes providing unauthorized guard duties.
“Therefore, military personnel found providing unauthorized guard duties; and any other unauthorized duties will face far-reaching consequences.”
The statement further announced the withdrawal of military escort for unqualified civilians. This affects public officials, former ministers as well as businessmen, and women.
He explained that the decision is meant to sanitise the system and put a stop to the misuse of military personnel for personal gain.
“Let’s work together to promote a more disciplined and responsible use of our military resources. We’re committed to transparency and accountability. Let’s build a more responsible and just society together!”
