GFA Rallies Support For Black Queens After Allowance Standoff

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has rallied the support of Ghanaians behind the Black Queens as they prepare to face Egypt in the second leg of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers.

This comes after a standoff between the players and the Sports Ministry over the delayed payment of their allowances, which saw them boycotting training for the match over the weekend.

In a statement, the Association underscored the essence of unwavering support for the players.

“The Football Association urges the media and the general public to rally behind the Black Queens by turning up in their numbers at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday to cheer the team on to victory.

“The unwavering support of Ghanaians will serve as a strong motivation for the players as they seek to complete their qualification campaign in style and make the nation proud.”

It comes after the team agreed to train on Monday after several engagements.

They will host Egypt at the Accra Sports Stadium later today.
