Philanthropist Fulfills Vow to God, Donates Magnificent Church Building

Isaac Kofi Agyemang Smart, a successful business mogul and philanthropist based in Kumasi, has built a magnificent church building for the A.M.E Zion Church, Calvary Society in Pakyi No.1.

The value of the facility is estimated to be a little over GHC5  billion . The church was dedicated and handed over to the church leadership on April 30th, 2023.

The construction of the church building was a fulfilment of a vow that Mr Smart made to God 25 years ago, as a way of giving back for how God had elevated him from a poor background to a wealthy one.

Smart shared, “I was nobody years ago. I grew up in a poor family and can perfectly recall how my mother, me and 7 siblings out of 11 struggled to live in a single room years ago. At that poor state and challenging moment, I told God to help me to build my own house, at least a single room. I challenged God that should he bless me, I will build a temple for him. Presently, I own mansions and a litany of properties. At age 38, I built my first house. God has blessed me more than enough, and this is the time for me to fulfil my side of the bargain.”

The church building was dedicated by Rt. Rev. Dr. Hilliard Dela Dogbe, the Bishop-Western West Africa Episcopal District. In his sermon, Rev. Dr. Seth Frimpong Coleman, the Bishop’s Deputy-Ghana Region, thanked Smart for offering himself as Solomon to the church.

During the occasion, Rt. Rev. Dr. Hilliard Dela Dogbe called on God to fill the place with blessings so that worshippers can experience blessings whenever they enter the temple. He also urged the local leaders and congregants to exercise a culture of maintenance as they utilise the facility.
