Kennedy Agyapong Donates Wheelchairs to KATH

Ghanaian politician Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has donated wheelchairs to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
It comes after he witnessed the challenge of inadequate beds confronting the Accident and Emergency Unit.
The former lawmaker with ambitions to become President on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been compelled to frequent the health facility after a member of a group he hired for an NPP event was stabbed.
“During a recent visit to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to support a student who had been stabbed, I witnessed a critical shortage of hospital beds,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
According to him, the plan was to donate beds to the facility; however, challenges in finding a supplier within the Kumasi metropolis led him to settle on wheelchairs.
“I initially planned to donate beds, but due to supply challenges in Kumasi, I consulted with hospital management. They advised that wheelchairs would be just as essential in improving patient mobility and care.”
He believes issues of healthcare are not particular to the ordinary Ghanaian but the whole country.
“You never know when you or a loved one might rely on these very facilities. Let’s stand together to protect and strengthen our health institutions.”
