Tactical Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum Gives Explanation To Fabio Gama’s Substitution
Asante Kotoko coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum has given explanation to why he substituted Fabio Gama in their first league match against Dream FC at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors renewed their energy to come back fabulously in the latter part of the second half to grab the three maximum points after sizzling forward Abdul Fataw Issahaku had already taken the lead for Dreams FC on the 64th minute.
The former West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) gaffer had to make two quick changes to change the complexion of his game for a victory.
He brought in Richard Boadu and Isaac Oppong for Fabio Gama and Joseph Amoako which paid off to give him an unimaginable victory.
The change of Fabio Gama brought in some stability in the middle of Asante Kotoko team due to Richard Boadu’s defensive traits.
While Richard Boadu was providing steam at the middle of the park, sensational Isaac Oppong was also doing wonders upfront.
Isaac Oppong after taking-on three defenders of Dreams FC set up Mudasiru Salifu to get the equalizer before adding his debut goal and providing the second assist on the day to Richmond Lamptey to get the third goal.
Speaking to the press after the match, Asante Kotoko tactician expressed that, “Fabio Gama’s substitution wasn’t a wrong substitution I did. We were losing the second balls in the middle of the park, so I realized that Fabio Gama was a little tired because they were kicking him all over the place.”
“So I decided to pull him instead of is playing two offensive midfielders and bring in Richard Boadu to add up to Mudasiru who is a bit mobile so that he will join the attack and at the same time join the defence when we lose the ball.”
“And when Richard Boadu came in, you realised that we had some stability.” He concluded.
