Surfline SIMs Deleted From Central SIM Database
The National Communications Authority (NCA) has announced the removal of all Surfline SIM cards from its Central SIM Database.
This means that the subscribers who had already linked their Surfline SIMs to their Ghana cards will have to repeat the process to get the SIMs back onto the database.
This, the NCA said, is part of its unrelenting commitment to protect the interest of Surfline customers and all users of telecommunications services in Ghana.
It was announced on May 31 on the Authority’s website.
“The National Communications Authority (NCA) wishes to announce to the public that, the Authority has delinked all Surfline SIMs from the Central SIM Database,” a part of the statement said.
“Subscribers who hitherto had reached the ceiling of 10 individual SIMs with the addition of their Surfline SIMs, will now be able to link additional SIMs to their Ghana Cards.”
It was reported in mid-May that Surfline had run bankrupt leading to the closure of the company’s data centre.
The situation left its customers stranded with some threatening legal action.
