Successor To Late Juabenhemaa to Be Enstooled On Thursday
The enstoolment of a successor to Nana Akosua Akyamaa ll, the late Juabenhemaa, will precede the final funeral rites of the deceased this week in the town.
The event will take place on February 29, 2024, following the conclusion of the burial rite on Sunday, February 25, a schedule released outlined.
The yet-to-be-unveiled queen mother will host the funeral rites of her predecessor at Asuminam, where she will receive homage on March 1, 2024.
On Saturday, March 2, Juabenmanhene Nana Otuo Serebuo II and New Juabenmanhene Dassebre Kwaku Boateng III will lead musketry in the town accompanied by sub-chiefs while principal mourners will sit in state to receive sympathisers on Sunday, March 3. Another sitting will be held the next day.
After a private ceremony and a purification ceremony on March 6 and 7, a thanksgiving service will be held at the Prof Adu Boahen Memorial Square on March 10.
Nana Akosua Akyamaa III passed away on September 10, 2023; however, it was announced almost a month later.
She was 97 years old and reigned for almost 30 years on the stool after succeeding her mother, Nana Akosua Akyamaa II, in November 1994.
