Stop Speculating, I’ll Appoint Defence Minister Next Year- Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has rubbished speculations about the next personality to lead the Defence Ministry.
Reacting to recent rumours, he said he had no plans to make the appointment immediately as he had scheduled it for next year.
According to him, the next Ministers for Defence and Environment would be named after the Christmas and New Year breaks.
“I can see people speculating that I am going to appoint a new Defence minister and a new Environment minister. We’re not in a hurry. I’ll do those appointments next year after the Christmas and New Year holidays. So those speculating about somebody going to be appointed tomorrow and all that, just take your time.”
It was widely reported that the Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey Constituency was due to replace the late Edward Omane Boamah.
The two vacant positions-Defence and Environment- were rendered vacant following the death of Omane Boamah and Murtala Mohammed in the August 6 helicopter crash.
