Stonebwoy to Light up Samartex Coronation as League Champions
Ghanaian artiste Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy will perform at this Sunday’s official crowning of FC Samartex 1996 as the winners of the 2023/2024 league season.
It was announced by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in a notice on Facebook.
The “Come from Far” hitmaker will deliver a live performance at Samreboi after their last game.
“Stonebwoy will perform live at the coronation of 2023/24 Ghana Premier League champions, FC Samartex 1996 in Samreboi on Sunday, June 16, 2024!” the FA posted on Friday.
The FA will draw the curtain on this season’s match-days with this weekend’s games.
Samartex’s historic league victory comes after their promotion in the 2022/2023 season.
The Tarkwa-based club with one game left hold 58 points from 18 wins, 11 losses and four draws, registering 43 goals and conceding 28.
They take the title away from Madeama Sporting Club who this season finished sixth with 49 points and exited the CAF Champions League in the early stage.
Coach Nurudeen Amadu’s side will face second-placed Accra Lions at home in the last game. They are hoping to seal the league on a good note after losing their last game to relegation-threatened Karela United by 4-2.
