Some Musicians Are Now Political Party Soldiers; Alottey Jacobs Says
Former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs has observed some musicians are marring their careers with politics.
“Some Ghanaian Musicians Are No Longer Overdose With Music”, he began.
“They Are Making Their Personal Interest Look Like A National Interest”, he observes.
In his words, such musicians are “Political Party Fool Soldiers”.
It is unclear who exactly he was referring to but his comments came after dancehall artiste Shatta Wale called out President Akufo-Addo over the economic hardship the State is plunged into.
In a video, the musician said, “The street is hot. Mr President the street is hot….Mr President the country is not going well. I’m telling you. People want to just come and follow you and make money and go….and your legacy won’t be the legacy that you have dreamt of.”
He also compared the governance under the erstwhile Mahama administration to the current administration and said Ghanaians rate the latter as worse.
Shatta also called out persons who booed at the president at the Global Citizen Festival.
Followers of Allotey Jacobs responded by listing names of some musicians they think to fall under the definition.
