Six Police Officers Interdicted Over Tamale Shooting
Six police officers have been interdicted in connection with a shooting that resulted in the death of one individual in Lamashegu, a suburb of Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana, on Sunday.
According to a police statement, a team of investigators has been assigned to the region to further investigate the situation.
The six include; General Corporal Samson Kweku Darfour, General Corporal Prosper Mormesimu, and General Constable Harrison Twum Danso.
The rest are General Constable Matthew Sah, General Constable Nuhu Muntari, and Constable Doris Serwa Bonsu.
The commotion began, according to eyewitnesses when a police patrol team allegedly shot and killed a young guy driving a white Toyota Camry with a DV number plate after he refused to stop when the police halted him.
He allegedly drove to the Chief for cover but was apprehended by the cops.
Injuries and death were reported as a result of subsequent shootings in the Palace area.
