Singapore President Invites Mahama for State Visit

The President of Singapore, H.E. Tharman Shanmugaratnam has extended an invitation to President John Dramani Mahama for a state visit.

The invitation by the ninth president of an Asian country was extended through the High Commissioner in Ghana, HE Hawazi Daipi.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, announced this while expressing gratitude to the President for the invitation after a meeting with the envoy on April 14.

“I thanked the High Commissioner on behalf of President Mahama and the people of Ghana for the special invitation from Singapore President, H.E. Tharman Shanmugaratnam to President John Mahama to pay a state visit to Singapore.”

Also featuring in his engagement with the High Commissioner was an agreement to deepen cooperation, particularly in trade, skills education and IT.

He also reported plans to maintain the Visa Waiver Agreement between both countries.
