Sierra Leone Visits NCA To Learn MoMo Regulations, Fraud Management, Etc
Sierra Leonean Telecommunication regulator, the National Telecommunications Commission (NATCOM) has benchmarked Ghana’s National Communication Authority for knowledge on Mobile Money Regulations, Data Regulation, and Fraud Management among others.
The news was contained in a news release from the National Communications Authority.
According to the NCA, a four-member delegation from the NATCOM visited Ghana yesterday, April 11, 2022, with the mission to gain expertise.
The delegation included NATCOM’s Deputy Director-General, Mr. Amara Brewah, Mr. Abdul Bah (Director IT), Smart Kokofele (Director, Regulatory Administration), and Mr. Musa Jalloh (Deputy Director Regulatory Administration), all of NATCOM.
The visit comes at a very crucial time where the Sierra Leonean Commission is transitioning to an Authority and also when almost all Mobile Network Operators in Sierra Leone are venturing into the mobile money service, the NCA noted.
In a welcome remark read by the Deputy Director-General for Technical Operations, Dr. Ezer Osei Yeboah-Boateng said that the NCA is pleased that NATCOM had reached out to benchmark some of its successes.
