Season Ends For Emmanuel Kotei after Training Injury
An injury picked up during Kotoko’s preparation towards Sunday’s match against Visions FC has sidelined Emmanuel Kotei for the rest of the season.
This was announced in a statement issued by the Asante Kotoko Sporting Club on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
The right-back is said to have sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
According to the Porcupines, the 27-year-old after testing was diagnosed with a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament with involvement of both meniscus in his right leg.
“The player will undergo surgery in the coming days,” the statement noted.
“Asante Kotoko can confirm that right-back Emmanuel Kotei’s season has painfully come to an end after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury.”
Kotei last featured against Medeama in the premier league on January 5. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.
