Sammy Awuku To “Probe” Sale Of Security Agencies Recruitment Forms

The National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku has promised to probe the sale of form vouchers to applicants seeking to enter the security agencies.

Sammy Awuku, while in opposition decried the sale of forms to applicants seeking to join the security sector. He is quoted to have described it as “extortion”. He also promised the form voucher would be free if the NPP came into power.

However in 2021, when the recruitment forms for the various security agencies were announced, it was priced at a fee of GH¢100.

In an interview monitored by opemsuo.com, the NLA boss said his attention was drawn to the situation recently and noted that the promise he made while his party was in opposition is not a forgotten one.

“We have to engage those particular agencies because it didn’t start like that. When we won in 2016, in 2017, we (applicants) didn’t pay. My attention was drawn to it not too long ago. I will be following up. I don’t think it was a forgotten promise”, he said.

He gave reassurance that “I’m going to find out what we are paying for. I want to understand”, however, he failed to reassure that promise will stand after his probe.
