Sam George Threatens to Sue NPP’s P.K. Sarpong over “False” Lexus Car Gift Claim

The lawyers of the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Sam George, have threatened to initiate legal action against P.K. Sarpong, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

It comes after the columnist took to his Facebook page to allege that the Minister had received a Lexus vehicle as a gift in violation of a directive issued by H.E. John Dramani Mahama to his ministers.

“You are fully aware that your publication is devoid of truth. Nonetheless, you have proceeded to make this misinformation public, with the apparent intention of tarnishing the hard-earned reputation of our client. Such conduct is defamatory and injurious.”

The lawyers demanded that he cease from publishing any further false claims about their client, as well as immediate removal of the said false publication; a public retraction of the statement; and an unqualified apology to their client.

In default, they said, a legal action will be initiated against him for defamation.

“Failure or refusal to comply with these demands will leave us with no option but to initiate legal proceedings against you, including but not limited to a defamation suit without further notice”
