Russian Experts Probing National Who Shares Explicit Videos of African Women

The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Ghana, HE Sergei Berdnikov, has confirmed that the Russian national who non-consensually recorded and shared his intimate moments with Ghanaian women is under investigation.

According to him, the same conduct was undertaken in other African countries and has come to the notice of the Russian authorities.

He disclosed that experts are investigating him after honouring a summons by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, on February 17, 2026.

“The objective of the summons was to formally express the strong displeasure of the Government of Ghana at the atrocious conduct of the supposed Russian, which clearly violates Ghanaian law, and to seek the cooperation of Russia in pursuing justice,” the Ministry reported.

While acknowledging the violation of the privacy and dignity of the victims and the larger cybercrime dimensions, Ambassador Berdnikov expressed the willingness of the Russian Federation to cooperate with the Republic of Ghana on the matter at issue.

He stated that he is unable to confirm the Russian nationality of the said individual at the centre of the intimate viral videos.

“Ambassador Sergei Berdnikov has pledged that the Embassy in Ghana is willing to share information on the matter to facilitate Ghana’s ongoing efforts aimed at apprehending the individual and bringing him to justice, within the context of our longstanding bilateral relations, despite the absence of a legally binding extradition treaty.”

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has assured Ghanaians of its commitment to leverage the cordial bilateral relations between Ghana and Russia, and to explore all international tools and remedies to ensure that justice is secured.
