The MTN FA Cup final between Bofoakwa Tano and Nsoatreman Football Club this Sunday at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium will witness an all-women officiating affair with the 2022/23 best female referee, Rita Boateng Nkansah, leading the charge.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced her appointment on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 in a statement.
With the help of Alice Farizua Chakule (Assistant I), Patricia Kyeraa (Assistant II) and Juliet Appiah (Fourth Referee), one of the two clubs will secure their first title.
The referees also add some aura to the game which will witness the drawing of the curtain on the season.
“FIFA referee Rita Boateng Nkansah has been appointed to officiate the 2023/24 MTN FA Cup final between Nsoatreman FC and Bofoakwa Tano,” the GFA said in a statement.
According to the FA, Rita has consistently demonstrated excellence in refereeing in both male and female competitions on the domestic front as well as CAF and FIFA sanctioned games.
The game is scheduled for June 23, 2024.
After sailing through all the stages, either Bofoakwa or Nsoatreman will make history by winning, as Dreams FC failed to defend the title despite their glorious campaign at the continental level.
