The Paramount Chief of Kwawoma near Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, Nana Amponsah Kwaa has made passionate appeal to the President, as a matter of urgency, reverse the decision of lifting ban on social gathering interest of saving lives.
According to Otumfuo’s Abremponhene, such a presidential decision will have a toll on the lives of Ghanaians as churches, mosques and other businesses have been allowed to resume their activities in the wake of Coronavirus pandemic.
“It is not a wise decision for  schools, churches and mosques to reopen now. … More people are likely to be infected if the decision is not reverse immediately”, Nana Amponsah Kwaa spoke on Manhyia-based Opemsuo FM.
According to Nana Amponsah Kwaa, President Akufo-Addo took such “unwise” decision due to external and internal political pressure instead of considering the larger interest of Ghanaians.
“The President shouldn’t have bowed to pressure from the people. he should  listen to advise from from the experts”, Nana Amponsah Kwaa who is also an educationist pointed out on the show dubbed “Oseikrom Kwanso”.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has directed churches and mosques to provide a register of names and contact details of all worshippers while service is to last for one hour.
Meanwhile, a Lecturer and psychologist at the University of Education, Winneba, Mr. Samuel Ziggah is of the view that we have open the flood-gate for an escalation of more COVID-19 cases.
