Remain Subject to Asamponghene; Otumfuo Orders Amoam Akyeasehene

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene has stated that Amoam Akyease remains subject to Asamponghene.

His Majesty therefore charged the newly enstooled chief of Amoam Akyease, Nana Owusu Agyemang II, to be fidel to his lord.

The Monarch at a Kumasi Traditional Council meeting on July 14, 2025, said that despite the elevation of the stool from Dikro, it remains subject to the Asampong Stool.

“Achiase belongs Asamponghene. He {Akyease} was once a Dikro but was elevated. He is the second occupant of the stool. He must make sure he keeps serving Asampong. His elevation doesn’t make him equal with his lord. He must continue to report to the Asamponghene.”

While advising him to remain humble, Otumfuo urged him to take good care of the Akyeasebaapanin Nana Akua Afriyie.

Otumfuo testified of how faithful and dedicated the Queen had been throughout.

The Asantehene further affirmed his confidence in the new leader, saying, “I have known him for a while. He is humble and I hope he keeps with that. There is no need to speak much.”

Following the counsel, Otumfuo permitted him to take the oath of allegiance during which he pledged his unwaivering commitment to the King.
