Rainstorm: Ashanti Regional Minister Announces Roofing Sheets Distribution to Schools

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon Frank Amoakohene, has announced the distribution of roofing sheets to schools affected by last week’s rain in parts of the Region.

In a Facebook post, he said 100 packs of roofing sheets will be distributed.

“100 packs of roofing sheets will be distributed today on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama to support schools affected by the heavy rains last week.”

Last week, Hon Amoakohene said his attention had been drawn to the ravages of the rain, affecting school buildings and homes in the Mampong and Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituencies.

In a statement, he said the Coordinating Directors and National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) have been tasked to assess the damages for the needed relief and interventions.

Sympathizing with the victims, he assured them of the needed support.

“I deeply sympathize with all individuals and families affected by this unfortunate incident. My thoughts are with those who have suffered losses, and I assure you that we are taking immediate action to address the situation.”

“We stand with all affected communities during this difficult time and will work tirelessly to provide the necessary assistance. Stay strong, and together, we will rebuild.”
