Provide Evidence to Refute NAPO’s Claims on Nkrumah and Akufo-Addo – Fiifi Boafo

Fiifi Boafo, the spokesperson for Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), has urged critics to provide evidence to refute NAPO’s claims that President Akufo-Addo’s achievements surpass those of Ghana’s first President, Kwame Nkrumah.

Speaking on Eyewitness News monitored by Opemsuo Radio, Boafo said that instead of merely criticizing NAPO’s statement, critics should present facts to support their opposing views.

He emphasized that NAPO’s comment was a personal opinion and not an imposition on others.

“If you have a contrary view, you are free to advance your argument and say, ‘I disagree with your point, and this is the reason why I disagree with your point.’ But the sad thing is that people are not ready to offer a contrary position backed by evidence,” Boafo said.

He challenged critics to provide evidence to support their claims, asking, “What is the point of serving in a government if you cannot defend it?”

Boafo’s call for evidence-based criticism has sparked a debate, with some agreeing that critics should substantiate their claims while others believe NAPO’s comment was unnecessary and disrespectful.

During his unveiling at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi on July 9, Dr Opoku Prempeh said among other things that no president of Ghana has developed the country more than President Akufo-Addo, not even Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

“I can boldly say that if the history of Ghana is told from 1957, we have never had a president that has helped Ghana more than Nana Akufo-Addo. I mean from 1957, even including your Kwame Nkrumah, none of them has protected Ghana and developed the country more than Nana Akufo-Addo.”
