Prof Jane Naana is Incorruptible- Mahama
Former President John Dramani Mahama has defended his decision to re-pick his 2020 Running Mate, Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang for the 2024 Presidential race, stating she is “incorruptible”.
According to him, she convinced him of her eligibility for the position when she proved herself worthy while serving as Education Minister in his erstwhile administration which ended in January 2017.
Speaking during a meeting with the Central Regional House of Chiefs on Tuesday, July 31, 2024, he said, “Your daughter Naana Jane hails from this very region and Komenda to be precise. Today, many more women have risen to those heights because Prof Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang was the first to lead the way. The first to show that it can be done and the first to do it. Prof Naana Jane is a leader who possesses high moral values.
“She is incorruptible and all through her service to Ghana, she has remained committed and remained patriotic. Her inspirational journey and brazen achievements are a testament to the values and excellence that the Central Region embodies. Prof Naana’s commitment to higher education was evident when her effort to complete the University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ho and initiate the work on the University of Environment and Sustainable Development in the Eastern Region.”
He told the House the NDC intends to prey on her wisdom, tact, passion, integrity and decades of experience in shaping policies for sustainable development and creating opportunities for all Ghanaians when they come into power.
“I am confident that with her experience, intellect and passion for education and social justice, she will bring valuable insight and perspective to our efforts to build the Ghana we want together.”
