Prof Gyampo Throws Away His Political Neutrality Stance After Mahama Appointment

University of Ghana lecturer, Prof Ransford Gyampo has abandoned his neutral political stance following his appointment by President John Dramani Mahama.

Prof Gyampo who was a critical critic of the Akufo-Addo-government always held that he was politically neutral.

He has landed an appointment as the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority this week which appointment he has accepted.

In a Facebook post following this, the Political Science lecturer indicated that he had ceased to be politically neutral as part of the government of the day.

“There can be no neutrality when one is tasked to help right what is wrong in the service of the NATION.”

Expressing his gratitude to the head of State, he vowed to serve the country.

“Thank you Prez Mahama; and humbled by the many congratulatory texts. I’ll serve GHANA and remain the YAW GYAMPO that u all know.”

Born on 31st March 1977, in Accra Ghana, Prof Ransford Edward Van Gyampo is a Professor of Political Science and the Founding Director of the Centre for European Studies of the University of Ghana, with 20 years of teaching and research experience.

He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Ghana and Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

His research interest lies in the areas of Governance, Leadership and Democratic Development in Ghana and Africa; Youth Empowerment and Development; Natural Resource Management; Electoral Studies; Ghanaian and African Politics; Maritime Security in the Gulf of Guinea; and Building Resilient Peace in Africa.
