Prof Adu Boahen Son Murder Suspect Arrested
The police have arrested one person in connection with the murder of the son of Professor Albert Adu Boahen, the New Patriotic Party’s 1992 Presidential Candidate.
The arrest was effected on Tuesday, March 19, two days after the incident was reported.
According to a statement by the police, Christopher Adu Boahen was found dead in his room under suspicious circumstances.
One suspect identified as Mark Forson was tracked down following a visit to the crime scene leading to his arrest.
“A team of Police investigators and crime scene experts immediately visited the scene to commence investigation leading to the arrest of the suspect.”
The suspect is in custody and undergoing the laid down procedures for his arraignment in court as the investigations continue.
Though the police did not make any allusion to robbery in their statement, initial reports suggested that he was killed by armed robbers.
According to the reports, he was killed by the suspected robbers in his home at East Legon in the Greater Accra region during the robbery.
The report also indicated that his home was ransacked.
