Probe Authenticity Of Educational Certificates Submitted By Mahama Appointees; Nabla to GTEC

The National Chairperson and Leader of the People’s National Party (PNP), Janet Asana Nabla, has called for a thorough probe into the educational credentials presented by appointees of the ruling government.

In a letter to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), she said the proposed exercise should not be limited to PhD holders.

According to her, this has become imperative due to the prevalence of fake academic certifications in the various public institutions.

“This verification exercise should also be expanded to include all public sector workers, especially those who obtained their academic qualifications from institutions outside Ghana.”

“The widespread use of fake certificates not only undermines the integrity of our educational system but also erodes public trust in governance and the credibility of our institutions.”

Meanwhile, she recommended the development of a secure and accessible online database containing information on all legitimate certificates issued by accredited institutions in Ghana.

“This will enable both public and private employers to verify academic credentials before offering appointments or employment. Such a system will ensure that only qualified individuals occupy critical roles in national development.”
