President Of Ghana Baptist Convention Introduced To Otumfuo

The President of the Ghana Baptist Convention, Rev. Enoch Nii Narh Thompson, has been introduced to the Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

He was introduced during a courtesy call by a delegation made up of the Governing Council of the Ghana Baptist Convention (GBC) and the Management of the Ghana Baptist University College.

The delegation was led by Rev Charles Oppong-Poku, the Vice President of the Ghana Baptist Convention.

In his speech, Rev Oppong Opoku said, “We have a new set of leaders; a new President, new Vice President, and a new University Council. We decided it was right to introduce them to you and seek your blessings.”

 

He introduced Rev Thompson as the President of the GBC and Chancellor of the Ghana Baptist University College.

 

He also introduced other members of the Council and management members of the University to the King.

They included Prof. Michael Tagoe, Council Chairman of the Ghana Baptist University College, Prof. Joseph Oteng-Adjei, President of the Ghana Baptist University College, Lawyer Paul Adu-Gyamfi, Council member, Emmanuel Dugbenoo, Registrar of the Ghana Baptist University College, Mr. Samuel Sarpong, Council member, Dr Mrs Rosemary Boateng Coffie, Council member, Rev. Komla Darke, Council member and Rev. Felix Bruce, Area Head.

In his address, Rev Thompson sought the blessings of the King and appreciated the contribution of the King to the Church and its projects in the region.

Rev Oppong-Opoku also informed Otumfuo about his slot on the Council of the University and sought a representative of the King.

On his part, His Majesty charged the President of GBC to lead with the fear of God.

Before leaving, Rev Thompson said a prayer for the King and Asanteman.
