Pooley Killing: Kotoko Welcome Evidence From Public

Asante Kotoko SC are welcoming evidence and any form of information from the public that could be useful in the police investigation of the killing of their ardent supporter over the weekend.

In a notice on its Facebook page, the club directed persons with such information to their secretariat in Kumasi.

“The general public is invited by the Ghana Police Service to provide any relevant information on the unfortunate death of Francis Yaw Frimpong a.k.a Pooley.”

The club’s temporary office, set up in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service for this purpose, will open on weekdays at 10 a.m.

This comes after the Inspector-General of Police, DR George Akufo Dampare visited the club alongside some Management Board members of the Ghana Police Service.

Stabbing
Ardent Asante Kotoko fan, Frimpong Yaw Francis, popularly known as Nana Pooley, was stabbed to death following the 1-0 defeat to Nsoatreman FC.

This followed a melee that marred the game at Nana Koramansah Park at Nsoatre in the Bono Region on February 2, 2025.

He died at a hospital while receiving treatment, Kotoko confirmed in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Porcupines alongside four players have been charged for failing to control players and anti-footballing activities respectively during the game.

Kotoko have since suspended all footballing activities until further notice.
