Pooley Killing: Abandon All Planned Vendetta; Nana Apinkra to Kotoko Fans

The Chairman of the Interim Management Committee of Asante Kotoko, Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awuah, has urged all fans planning to take the law into their hands to avenge the death of murdered Kotoko fan, Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley to abandon it.

“Forget about revenge. We have everything under control,” he said at a vigil held on February 9, 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in memory of the die-hard fan.

He indicated that the police had come far in their investigation in a week and therefore the need to abandon all plans for vengeance.

“Today is exactly a week since Pooley lost his life. The case is now with the police. The IGP has promised to find justice for us. It’s now a week. Let us leave everything to the law enforcement agencies for the law to take its full rigours. We will not back down in our quest for justice.”

Assuring of the Porcupines’ commitment to justice, the Chief of Kontomponiafere encouraged anyone with any suitable information to assist the investigation to visit the club’s secretariat.

“If anyone holds any information that can help in the investigations, bring it to the Secretariat of Kotoko. There are CID officers there to receive. Don’t take it to the radio or public places and fight. Wars were fought with weapons in the olden days but now, we use pen and paper. The law is at work. We will be meeting with the FA.”

Nana Pooley was stabbed to death on February 2, 2025, at Nsoatre after a game between Kotoko and Nsoatreman.

So far, six persons have been arrested in connection with the crime.
