Police Royal Ladies Honours Asantehene with Golden Stool Formation Display

The Ghana Police Service took centre stage at the Manhyia Palace on the first Akwasidae festival of the year 2026, as the Police Royal Ladies celebrated the Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Led by Commander Kafui Agyemang, the group held an honour parade to usher in the festival celebration on February 1.

Capping the displays was a golden stool formation display and a human alphabet of “Ayekoo”.

The beautiful display was specifically to express the Service’s profound gratitude to the Asantehene for honouring it with a visit earlier this year.

Present at the Manhyia Palace was the Inspector-General of Police, Christina Yohuno and some members of the Police Management Board (POMAB).

Today marks the first Akwasidae Festival with dignitaries including the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, the former Attorney-General, Betty Mould-Iddrisu, former Minister for Trade and Industries, Alan Kyerematen, and 2024 Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Matthew Opoku Prempeh, present.

The ceremony is being held at the Afia Kobi Park at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
