Police Assures Family Of “Assassinated” Policewoman Justice
The police service has assured the family of the policewoman who was reportedly “assassinated” by unknown assailants in the Bawku of justice.
The police in a statement said investigations are underway to fish out the perpetrators of the heinous crime.
“We hereby urge the family to remain calm as investigation is underway to get the perpetrators of this senseless and callous murder arrested to face justice.”
The deceased officer, Constable Regina Angenu of Paga Police Station, Saturday, January 22 around 5 pm paid a visit to Constable Erasmus Enkson at the Bawku Division of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) of the Ghana Police Service.
On their way to Const. Enkson’s barracks, they were attacked by unknown assailants and the policewoman was shot in the groin, it has been reported.
Mourning the Constable who was killed while off-duty, the police said “We extend our sincerest condolences to the bereaved family, colleagues, and friends and also commiserate with them in this trying time.”
