Police Administration Pats New Deputy IGP
The Police administration led by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akufo Dampare has sent out its congratulatory message to the newly appointed Deputy IGP in Charge of Operations, COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno.
The Commissioner of Police’s appointment was undertaken by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, upon consultation with the Police Council, a statement released by the Presidency said.
The appointment characterized by the President as a deserving one has been warmly welcomed by the Police Management Board (POMAB) in a statement issued on July 18.
“The Inspector-General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, Members of the Police Management Board and the entire Police Service wish to congratulate you, Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, on your promotion to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Police.”
It also sent its best wishes to him.
“We wish you all the best as we continue to work together with our colleagues in the pursuit of peace, security, law and order in our beloved country.”
From November 2007 to May 2009, he held the double role as the Divisional Commander for Accra Central and the Accra Regional Operations Commander.
COP Tetteh Yohuno was in 2011 awarded the Grand Medal for his meritorious service in combating armed robbery and other criminal activities in the country and got promoted in January 2012 to the position of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP).
He was later appointed Deputy Accra Regional Commander and rose to become the Regional Commander in 2013 until December 5, 2015.
He holds an Executive MBA in Project Management
