Placement for 2020 Batch of Nurses and Midwives Begins Next Week

Over six thousand nurses and midwives from the 2020 batch of students will have the opportunity to be placed into various health facilities across the country from next week, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced.

These health workers applied for postings through the Ministry of Health portal weeks ago.

In a notice, the GHS directed all nurses and midwives “who were admitted onto the portal and opted to work” with them to report to their preferred regions for selection and placement.

They are to go with their certificates and AIN/PIN from the Nursing and Midwifery Council in accordance with a published schedule.

“Consequently, all nurses and midwives who were admitted onto the portal and opted to work with the Ghana Health Service are requested to report to their preferred regions with their certificates and AIN/PIN from the Nursing and Midwifery Council for selection and placement.”

Per the said schedule, enrolled nurses are to report for their placement from November 18 to 19 while Community Nurses, Registered Community Health Nurses and Public Health Nurses are to report for placement on November 20.

November 21 has been set aside for Registered General Nurses and Midwives with November 22 reserved for Nursing and Midwifery Officers.
