Philanthropist Hands Over Classroom Block, ICT Centre to Boadi Basic School
A Philanthropist, founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Spencam Group of Companies, Nana Owusu Bempah, has handed over three educational facilities to his alma-mater, Boadi M/A Basic School to facilitate teaching and learning.
The facilities which were handed over at a colourful ceremony on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at the school premises in the Oforikrom Municipality include a two unit classroom block, fully equipped ICT Centre and a Canteen.
The facilities running into several thousands of Cedis were fully funded by the philanthropist to provide quality education for students in the community.
Nana Owusu Bempah, in addressing the ceremony, emphasized his motivation for the projects and urged others to support the cause of education.
“As I said earlier, it is an act of sacrifice and an appreciation to give back to my society. At least, that is what I can do to support the school that made me what I am today and to contribute to quality education.”
Speaking to Opemsuo News, the philanthropist said he could not wait any further to be overly rich before he could give back to his community.
“I am grateful to God for what I am today and I am satisfied with my current status. There are a lot of people who are well endowed but are unwilling to support their people but I am happy that I am able to share the little I have with others and I thank God for that,” he stressed.
He called on the privileged and well-endowed individuals not to ignore their communities and support their development.
Receiving the facilities on behalf of the school, the Oforikrom Municipal Education Director, Mrs. Dorothy Opare Baidoo, expressed appreciation to Nana Owusu Bempah and emphasized the relevance of the facilities which she said would facilitate quality education.
She urged other old students and stakeholders to also support the government in its quest to provide quality education to Ghanaian students.
On his part, the Oforikrom Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Abraham Kwame Antwi, commended the philanthropists and urged both teachers and students to put the facilities to the right use.
