Personnel To Begin National Service On November 1

The Management of the National Service Scheme (NSS) has announced the 2022/2023 national service year will begin on the first of November 2022.

This comes in the wake of the release of postings for the 2022/2023 personnel.

There are 115,240 personnel in all.

This number includes persons who enrolled to undertake their national service this year as well as persons from all accredited tertiary institutions across the country, Management of the scheme said in a press statement.

Personnel have therefore been directed to visit the website of the NSS to check their placements.

However, the Scheme noted that printing of appointment letters, as well as endorsement by user agencies, can be done from Monday, October 17.

As done since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, personnel will have to schedule appointments online before visiting validation centres with their appointment letters.

Also “validation and registration at all regional centres across the country would begin on Monday, October 24, 2022”, it noted.

This, it said, was to give the opportunity to prospective personnel who are yet to complete their academic programmes.
