Payment Issues of Junior Doctors Resolved- MoH

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the resolution of the salary issues of junior doctors.

In a statement, it said all the processes for their payment had been done, but unfortunately, they were not paid.

“This has been resolved.”

It comes after the Junior Doctors’ Association of Ghana (JDA-GH) announced a phased industrial action beginning on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

Over 200 affected members of the group have gone without salary payment for 10-14 months.

In a statement, it explained that “Several medical officers who were previously on payroll have had their salaries stopped without explanation. We also have over 800 medical officers who have been awaiting posting for the past 1 year, 4 months.”

The association has therefore directed all members to withdraw all outpatient services effective October 7 and then emergency services effective Friday, October 10, 2025, until further notice.

In the statement, the Health Minister reaffirmed his commitment to supporting health workers, stating that their welfare remains a priority as the government works to strengthen Ghana’s health sector.\
