Our Staff Aren’t Sanctioned to Take Payments- ECG
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has cautioned the public against persons who pose as their staff and demand payment of bills from customers.
“The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to alert our cherished customers about illegal activities of individuals falsely posing as ECG staff.”
According to the Company these persons subject customers to harassment and demand payment through unauthorised channels, threatening to disconnect their lights.
“We emphasised that ECG staff are not authorised to harass, threaten to solicit payments in this manner. Such actions violate our core values and ethical standards.”
It has directed customers to be on the safer side by making payment for their bills through their Power App or the short code *226#.
