Otumfuo to Settle Kotoko Noks Hotel Debt
Life Patron and the Occupant of the Golden stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has stepped in to settle Noks Hotel debt on behalf of Asante Kotoko.
The Porcupine Warriors were ordered by the Kumasi High Court 7 to pay GHC69,960 owed to Noks Hotel Asokwa during the past administration’s tenure in the month of April.
However, the debt is yet to be paid by the former leaders of the club and the Owner of the club has decided to pay off the debt.
The debt was accumulated as some club officials and players stayed at the Kumasi based hotel between 2018 and 2020.
Former CEO of the club, George Amoako, former management member, Edmund Ackah, and then two players of the club, Zabo and Habib lived at the hotel for 7 months.
Ghana Football Association officials who were in Kumasi to watch the club during the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup games also stayed at the hotel.
The Owner of the Hotel has been invited to Manhyia Palace for an amicable settlement of the issue before the date of the court is due.
Asante Kotoko is now under new leadership and they are bent on changing the face of the club to reclaim its pre-eminent position on the Continent of Africa.
