Otumfuo Embodies Living Waters in a Thirsty Land; Old Achimotan Association

The Old Achimotan Association, (OAA) has honoured Asatehene Otumfu Osei Tutu II with a citation recognizing he embodies the Association’s ethos.

They celebrated the King’s exceptional leadership, dedication to education, vision of unity and spirit of giving. Though Otumfuo is not an old student, they deemed it fit to honour the King for his distinguished leadership.

“Though you may not be an old student, we celebrate you for embodying the Akora ethos by exemplifying the true meaning of being living waters in a thirsty land,” Akora Joel Nettey said.

They observe that His Majesty’s visionary approach has transformed countless lives and communities leaving an indelible footprint that will echo through the corridors of time.

“We believe the transformative power of education has been a driving force as you have tirelessly championed the establishment of schools, scholarships and skill-building initiatives. Through your efforts the youth of countless communities have been empowered to reach new heights, forging a brighter future for all.


“Your ability to forge unity across tribal and religious lines has been a testament to your diplomatic powers and your deep understanding of the importance of togetherness. By bridging divided and forging a spirit of cooperation, you have strengthened the very fabric of our country, paving the way for lasting progress and prosperity.”
This and more, they noted has over the past 25 years earned him global admiration and respect.

Anniversary
The group alongside Management members of the school also informed the King about their Centenary celebration slated for 2027 and extended an invitation to the Palace.

“It’s a year-long celebration,” they disclosed.

Among the delegation were Eunice Opoku, the General Secretary and Rev George Arthur, the Assistant Headmaster

Acceptance
Expressing his gratitude to the Association, Otumfuo readily accepted the invitation.

“We pray for strength and we will come.”

Meanwhile, he highlighted the enormous benefits Ghana has reaped from the school.
