Otumfuo Charity Foundation To Organize Stay Home, Study ICT Classes At Ashtown For JHS ONE Students
Otumfuo Charity Foundation is set to organize Information Communication Technology (ICT) Classes dubbed Stay home, Study ICT in the various communities within Kumasi Metropolis, starting from Ashanti New-Town (Ashtown), KO, Dichemso, CPC, Alabaa on Monday, October 5, 2020.
The Charity Foundation has been copiously influential in the era of COVID-19 pandemic which has halted the educational calendar.
The effects of the outbreak of the novel COVID-19 pandemic have been pervasive and touted as a global enemy following how it has subjected human life to despicable situation.
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected educational systems worldwide, leading to the near-total closures of schools, universities and colleges in an anticipation to curb the spread of the disease.
Nonetheless, Otumfuo Charity Foundation has provided a comprehensive program to aid the children as a conduit to equip them while at home.
Junior High School students in this era have hugely benefited from the good works of the Foundation through the overlord of Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Speaking on Opemsuo 104.7 FM morning show, Nkwantannanso, the Programs Manager, Godwin Agyemang Donkor disclosed the motive for the initiation of the Stay home, Study ICT.
“It is our resolve to provide a viable platform that will be a means for the pupils in JHS One to study while at home to refresh their mind before they go back to school.”
“Apart from sharing number of literature books and dictionaries to the pupils, we have also been able to organize ICT Classes for students at no cost.”
He reckoned that, “what we are coming to do at Ashtown and its environs will take two weeks and it is without a cost to students. Registration and orientation will start on Friday, October 2, 2020, after which classes will commence on Monday, 5th October, 2020 at Abbey’s Park auditorium.”
The Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Charity Foundation, located in Kumasi, Ghana, seeks to improve the lives of Ghanaians by implementing the ideals, values and visions of its patron and thereby use this medium as a vehicle in the transformation of Africa.
