Otumfuo Adwumfuohene Swears Oath of Allegiance

The Goldsmith of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has taken the oath of allegiance, marking his enstoolment.

Nana Opoku Duben II, Adwumfuohene, who took the oath of allegiance before the Kumasi Traditional Council on February 24, 2025, is responsible for making the Kingdom’s gold articles.

Before taking the oath, the Asantehene delved into his engagement with persons who occupied this strategic and sensitive position.

His Majesty highlighted the behind-closed-door nature of their engagement.

“My dealings with him are indoors. We jawjaw indoors during which he accounts for all the craft he makes for Asanteman. Today we will give him the position and he will start work immediately after today.”
“You already know your work, you don’t need training. In the next three days, you will come with Mponponsuohene to render an account on the properties of Asanteman. We have done a lot of crafts. You have a lot of work and you are expected to undertake them all.”
