Old-Tafo Constituency Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Vincent Ekow Assafua, donated to Otumfuo Charity Foundation to complement the effort of Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, whose resolve to assuage the hardship of his people have been exceptional in the era of the novel COVID-19 pandemic.
The overlord of Asante Kingdom, Opemsuo Osei Tutu Ababio, Asantehene, has become a heartwarming figure that wheeze hope into people following the outbreak of the Coronavirus disease in Ghana.
Through the Charity Foundation, Asantehene has provided a unique platform dubbed; “Stay home, Study ICT”, for Junior High School students, who, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, are yet to go back to school to study Information and Communication Technology which has become a preponderance part of our lives.
Yesterday, November 6, 2020, the former spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, Vincent Ekow Assafua donated hundreds of exercise books to Otumfuo Charity Foundation to be given to JHS students at his constituency studying Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
The Parliamentary Candidate in his remarks expressed his profound gratitude to Asantehene for his unparalleled resolve to create this platform for students to study even at home and promised to rally behind Otumfuo’s laudable initiative with indefatigable support.
He again encouraged the students participating to seize the opportunity intelligently to build their lives.
Education, undoubtedly, has become the bedrock of our lives, and, Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has been guided by this principle to shoulder it to the zenith level by providing the means to those who are unable to afford for quality education.
Stay home, Study ICT mobile learning team is currently at Old-Tafo giving a unique opportunity to the students in the constituency to have access to computer.
The team will spend two weeks before they will move to a different location in Kumasi to continue their standout work.
